Ethereum whales are now on the biggest accumulation spree…This increase in activity has fueled speculation about the effects this major development will have on Ethereum’s price and overall ecosystem. Specifically, wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 ETH now control a whopping 27% of Ethereum’s total supply.
Just a few days ago, Ethereum whales were hit with their biggest daily inflow of 2023 — the largest since the 2017-18 bull run. For almost a week, daily whale inflows have consistently exceeded 800,000 ETH. On June 12, 2025, whale accounts took a notable step by accumulating more than 871,000 ETH in a single day. This great accommodation raised their cumulative dividend to 14.3 million ETH.
This bullish accumulation trend hints that a trend reversal may be underway. According to analysts, Ethereum whales are deliberately placing their bets ahead of important changes coming to the Ethereum ecosystem. That increase in activity has coincided with the conclusion of a stressful, months-long period of decreased whale activity.
In fact, lending protocols have experienced a jaw-dropping 203.8% increase in whale activity suggesting a rising appetite for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. Moreover, the amount of ETH staked has exceeded 35 million, adding downward pressure to the circulating supply. Accumulation addresses now control an all-time high of 22.8 million ETH.

Ethereum’s price is still near $2,548, which proves there’s a huge accumulation trend. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at a mere 54, telling you that it’s weak momentum. Ethereum has struggled with resistance at the $2,700 level, breaking above only on false breaks.
The current market conditions create an ambiguous picture. Although this whale accumulation indicates deep confidence in the long-term prospects of Ethereum, technical indicators indicate a likely strong resistance level and waning upward momentum. It is yet to be seen if this whale activity will lead to a big price pump for Ethereum.
